What is ISO 22253- Nicotine in total particulate matter with an intense smoking regime using a gas-chromatographic method about?
ISO 22253 specifies a method for the determination of nicotine in total particulate matter from the mainstream smoke with an intense smoking regime using a gas-chromatographic method.
ISO 22253 takes under consideration from different countries and the Conferences of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control which results to specify the conditions of the intense smoking regime on analytical cigarette-smoking machines.
Who is ISO 22253- Nicotine in total particulate matter with an intense smoking regime using a gas-chromatographic method for?
ISO 22253 on nicotine in total particulate matter with an intense smoking regime using a gas-chromatographic method:
- Cigarettes manufacturers
- Cigarette testing laboratory
- Tobacco control organizations
Why should you use ISO 22253- Nicotine in total particulate matter with an intense smoking regime using a gas-chromatographic method?
Elaboration of ISO 22253 considered practical work conducted in the framework of a collaborative study involving 35 laboratories (published as ISO/TR 194781 and ISO/TR 194782).
ISO 22253 provides specifications for the gas-chromatographic determination of nicotine in total particulate matter from the mainstream smoke with an intense smoking regime. ISO 22253 states that no machine smoking regime can represent all human smoking behavior.
Machine smoking testing is beneficial to characterize cigarette emissions for design and regulatory purposes. ISO 22253 test reports state yield of nicotine per cigarette smoked state and the yield of nicotine per cigarette smoked.
