What is ISO 22462 about?
ISO 22462 is an international standard that covers metallic and other inorganic coatings.
ISO 22462 specifies a test method to measure the friction coefficient of chemical conversion coating sheet products and coiled products.
ISO 22462 is applicable to measure or compare the friction properties of hot-dip galvanized, Lubricated, and resin-coated steel sheet when tested under the same conditions. It gives technical specifications such as terms, definitions, apparatus, test piece, test conditions, test procedures, test reports for measuring the friction coefficient of chemical conversion coatings.
Who is ISO 22462 for?
ISO 22462 on chemical conversion coatings is applicable for:
- Ships and boat manufacturers
- Heavy equipment manufacturers
- Automobiles Industry
- Trains and aircraft manufacturers
- Oil and gas pipelines Industry
- Aerospace industry
Why should you use ISO 22462?
The forming qualities of sheet metals are highly dependent on the friction created by the dies during the forming process. As a result, the frictional characteristics of sheet metal surfaces must be measured.
As the measured friction coefficient depends on some conditions, ISO 22462 provides you with an advanced method that can accurately measure the friction coefficient of chemical conversion coatings without deformation of the test pieces during the test.
The ISO 22462 test recommendations assist you in determining the frictional properties of chemical conversion coating sheet products and coiled products, which improves the quality and durability of coating of chemical conversion coating sheet products and coiled products.
