What is ISO 22565 - Starter relay for passenger vehicles with a stop and start system about?
ISO 22565 is an international standard on road vehicles that discusses the starter relay used in the vehicle engine.
ISO 22565 defines the durability test methods of a starter relay for passenger vehicles (12 V) with a stop and start system. It uses a simulated electrical load to represent the starter solenoid.
Who is ISO 22565 - Starter relay for passenger vehicles with a stop and start system for?
ISO 22565 on starter relay of road vehicles is useful for:
- Road vehicle designers and engineers
- Electrical and mechanical engineers
- Manufacturers and suppliers of the starter relay and engines
- Manufacturers of vehicle’s battery and the starter motor
Why should you use ISO 22565 - Starter relay for passenger vehicles with a stop and start system?
The starter relay and the starter solenoid work together to run the starter mechanism in several automotive applications. A stop and start system require more frequent engine starting therefore, the starter relay used in such an engine should be durable.
ISO 22565 navigates you through the structure of starting circuit of the starter relay of an open and close circuit to the starter solenoid.
ISO 22565 provides the types of starter solenoid that are categorized into two types according to their coil structure namely, single-coil type and double-coil type having hold-in and pull-in coils.
ISO 22565 specifies the test method and condition of the starter relay for the single-coil solenoid and double-coil solenoid.
The number of operation cycles and characteristics of the relay after the test is mentioned in ISO 22565.
Overall, ISO 22565 assists you in designing and manufacturing high-quality starter relay for road vehicles that helps to increase the battery’s current so that less current needs to be ignited and continuous and smooth motor run of vehicles in the start system. In this manner, you can deliver a high-quality starter relay for the vehicles with more durable engine systems.
