What is ISO 22688 about?
ISO 22688 defines two levels of quality requirements and selection criteria for brazing of metallic materials. It applies to manufacturing, both in workshops and at installation sites.
ISO 22688 is applicable to brazing industry quality management systems, similar in scope and purpose to the ISO 3834 series.
ISO 22688 provides complete sets of quality requirements for process control related to all listed brazing processes, for each process separately or in combination as specified, and lists the documents with which it is necessary to conform to these requirements.
Note: The requirements in this standard may be adopted for other brazing processes, with or without adjustments, under the responsibility of the manufacturer.
Who is ISO 22688 for?
ISO 22688 on Brazing applicable to:
- Automotive manufacturers
- Heat exchangers
- Refrigeration
- Air-conditioning
- Turbomachinery
- Pipe fittings manufacturing
- Electrical components manufacturers
- Brazing industry quality management systems
Why should you use ISO 22688?
Brazing processes are widely used to manufacture many products from simple to complex levels.
ISO 22688 provides complete sets of quality requirements for process control related to all listed brazing processes and products. ISO 22688 helps you to establish a complete quality management system (QMS) for brazing, Improving the quality and durability of brazing processes and products.
The guidelines in ISO 22688 help you to ensure that brazing processes are carried out in the most effective way and appropriate control is practiced over all aspects of the operation, which is helpful to reduce the cost of manufacturing.
ISO 22688 helps you to establish the criteria for selecting metallic materials for brazing which helps for better classification of metallic materials for brazing and aids in the improvement of efficiency and productivity of brazing processes.
