What is ISO 22733‑1 about ?
ISO 22733‑1 is part one of the multi-series that specifies a method to evaluate the behaviour of a vehicle equipped with an autonomous emergency braking system (AEBS), or dynamic brake support (DBS) during several accident scenarios. Those accidents occur during a straight-line driving when the vehicle under test (VUT) approaches another vehicle in the same lane. Both vehicles are aligned in longitudinal axis to each other.
The most important part of the vehicle behaviour during these accidents scenarios is the capacity to avoid or mitigate the collision.
Note: Systems requiring driver intervention are not in the scope of ISO 22733‑1.
Who is ISO 22733‑1 for ?
ISO 22733‑1 on test method to evaluate the car-to-car performance of autonomous emergency braking systems is applicable to:
- Car manufacturers
- Car braking systems manufacturers
- Vehicle regulatory authorities
- Automobile engineers
- Car testing facilities
Why should you use ISO 22733‑1 ?
The capacity to avoid or mitigate a collision during a potential accident is an important part of the performance of an autonomous emergency braking system.
ISO 22733‑1 is intended to assess the performance of an autonomous emergency braking system under a defined test scenario. It will help you increase the quality and car-to-car performance of autonomous emergency braking systems.
ISO 22733‑1 provides CCRs and CCRm test templates that will help you in summarizing and studying test data.
ISO 22733‑1 gives a method to determine the brake pedal displacement and force necessary to achieve a vehicle deceleration typical of that produced by a typical real-world driver in emergency situations.
ISO 22733‑1 lays out CCRs, CCRm and CCRb scenarios to test the performance of the test vehicle autonomous emergency braking systems.
