What is ISO 22735 about ?
ISO 22735 specifies test methods and performance metrics to evaluate the behaviour of a vehicle equipped with lane keeping assistance system.
For this purpose, variables relevant to vehicle dynamics as well as controllability of a vehicle with LKAS and their measurement methods are defined.
ISO 22735 applies to the vehicles of M1 category.
Note: A system requiring a driver intervention is excluded from the scope.
Who is ISO 22735 for ?
ISO 22735 on test method to evaluate the performance of lane-keeping assistance systems is applicable to:
- Vehicle manufacturers
- Lane keeping assistance systems engineers
- Vehicle regulatory authorities
- Vehicle testing facilities
- Autonomous driving systems developers
Why should you use ISO 22735 for ?
The main function of a lane keeping assistance system (LKAS) is to support the driver in keeping the vehicle within the current lane. LKAS acquires information on the position of the vehicle within the lane and, when required, sends commands to actuators to influence the lateral movement of the vehicle, and in turn, provides status information to the driver.
ISO 22735 is intended to assess the complete performance of an LKAS fitted in a road vehicle
ISO 22735 provides the capacity to keep the vehicle within the current lane during complex scenarios and weather conditions.
ISO 22735 gives methods to avoid undesired lane change. So that the lane-keeping assistance systems do not perform unwanted or accidental lane changes.
ISO 22735 lays out guidelines for vehicle preparation and vehicle dimensions for the test.
The performance of the LKAS is assessed in different scenarios that are applicable to the system.
ISO 22735 mentions examples of scenarios in which the performance of lane-keeping assistance systems can be tested.
