What is ISO 22821 about?
ISO 22821 specifies a thermogravimetric method for the determination of fibre weight content by weight per cent, of carbon fibre reinforced composites.
ISO 22821 applies to pre-products, such as prepregs, parts and products of carbon fibre reinforced composites.
Who is ISO 22821 for?
ISO 22821 on TG test on carbon-fibre-reinforced composites is relevant to:
- Plastic industry
- Chemical engineers
- Product engineers
- Fabricators
- Industries such as aerospace, automotive and medical technology, amongst others
Why should you use ISO 22821?
Thermogravimetry is widely used to determine the composition and thermal stability of materials by monitoring the weight change that occurs as the sample is heated at a constant rate.
By conducting the TG test in compliance with ISO 22821, you will be able to accurately determine the fibre content, which is an important quality measure that improves overall tensile strength of carbon-fibre-reinforced composites and therefore the end-product, albeit without increasing its weight.
