ISO 22843 specifies technicalities such as terms, definitions, classification, general requirements like dimensions, physical properties, as well as packaging and marking for rubber bands.
Note 1: ISO 22843 is not applicable for cover rubber bands made of blend and synthetic rubbers. Note 2: ISO 22843 is not applicable for rubber bands used for engineering applications, for food contact, or for medical uses.
Who is ISO 22843 - Rubber bands for?
ISO 22843 on rubber bands is applicable for
- Manufacturer and suppliers of rubber bands
- Dealers and distributors of rubber bands
Why should you use ISO 22843 - Rubber bands?
Rubber bands are circular elastic loops that are used to hold and bind objects together. As a result, it is important to confirm their durability, high quality, and functioning at various temperatures.
ISO 22843 gives you technical specifications such as general requirements like dimensions, physical properties for rubber bands that help you in avoiding discoloration, thin spots, air bubbles, embedded particles, tackiness, and other blemishes that affect its serviceability.
ISO 22843 also gives you the tube sample test, enabling you in measuring the tensile properties of rubber bands through which you can confirm the full functionality of bands. The ring sample test helps you adjust the distance between the upper and the lower roller grips, and you can determine the minimum stress a rubber band can handle
