What is ISO 22992-2 about?
ISO 22992 discusses the determination of certain preservatives in textiles. ISO 22992-2 is the second part of the multi-series ISO 22992 and discusses the determination of triclosan residues. ISO 22992-2 specifies a method for the determination of triclosan residues in textiles by high-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-MS/MS). ISO 22992-2 is applicable to all kinds of textile products.
Who is ISO 22992-2 for?
ISO 22992-2 on the determination of certain preservatives in textile (determination of triclosan residues) is relevant for:
- Textile manufacturers
- Testing laboratories
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 22992-2?
Triclosan is an antibacterial and antifungal agent present in some consumer products. Triclosan is necessary to be determined because it tests the durability of repeated home laundering.
ISO 22992-2 provides you with the necessary guidance on the test procedures. The tests procedures in ISO 22992-2 include preparation of standard solution and preparation of test specimen.
ISO 22992-2 also provides you with procedures of ultrasonic wave extraction and determination of triclosan. A blank test has also been provided for calculation and test parameters by HPLC-MS/MS. ISO 22992-2 helps you to increase the anti-bacterial property and durability of textiles.
