What is ISO 23114 about?
ISO 23114 specifies the testing method for the determination of the bonding strength of ceramic coatings at ambient temperature by the compression tests on the cross-joined test pieces. Methods for test piece preparation, test mode and rate, data collection and reporting procedures are addressed.
ISO 23114 applies to any ceramic coatings, thick or thin, bonded onto substrates of various materials. The test method described can be used for materials research, quality control, characterization and design data generation purposes.
Who is ISO 23114 for?
ISO 23114 on fine ceramics is useful for:
- Fine ceramics manufacturers
- Automotive industries
- Electrical and electronics industries
- Chemical engineers
- Testing laboratories
- Biomedical applications
Why should you use ISO 23114?
Ceramic coatings act as protective layers between substrate and paints. Ceramic coatings prevent corrosion and improve the appearance of surfaces.
ISO 23114 provides you with testing method for evaluating the tensile bonding strength of ceramic coatings and materials. The outcome of such a test may be useful in increasing the direct and extended fields of application for the ceramic product range.
The accuracy of the ISO 23114 test results will help in improving product development and quality control of end-products and thereby building trust of your customers. The results of these tests will equip you with making an improved decisions regarding the right chemical composition required in fine ceramics as the specific engineering and industrial needs.
