What is ISO 23130 about?
ISO 23130 is a standard that covers technical specifications for monitoring devices for bulk milk cooling tanks that deters bacterial growth, retains freshness and enhances the quality of milk.
ISO 23130 specifies minimum performance and information requirements for monitoring devices of bulk milk cooling tanks as part of milking and milk cooling machinery installations in agricultural operations. It also specifies the minimum requirements for materials, design and installation.
ISO 23130 contributes to high-quality milk production by monitoring, collecting data and providing alarms with respect to defined parameters of the milk cooling, storage and cleaning processes.
Who is ISO 23130 for?
ISO 23130 on monitoring device for bulk milk cooling tanks is applicable to:
- Dairy industries
- Suppliers and storage facilities for milk
- Manufacturers of cooling tanks for dairy applications
- Quality assurance services
Why should you use ISO 23130?
Milk is a temperature-sensitive product. The cooling and storage conditions of milk will influence its purity, freshness and quality. Monitoring devices that are installed in milk cooling tanks facilitate the control and storage condition of milk and compliance with specified conditions.
ISO 23130 provides you guidance on technical requirements, alarms for milk condition, design and installation that enhances operational performance and accuracy of monitoring device for milk cooling tanks.
ISO 23130 also provides you extensive information on the operator’s manual, instructions for tanker driver and instruction for installation of monitoring devices which ensure the optimal storage and reduction of spillage risks.
The guidance in ISO 23130 allows you to set up monitoring devices for bulk milk cooling tanks ensuring their operational performance, regulation and control of temperature and effective monitoring of the condition of milk.
