What is ISO 23305 about?
ISO 23305 is an International Standard that discusses the estimation of specific nutritional content in fortified milk powders, infant formula and adult nutritionals. The robust analytical methods recommended by ISO 23350 can help you maintain nutritional authenticity as per the specific needs of the product.
ISO 23305 specifies a method for the quantitative determination of biotin and/or biocytin in fortified milk powders, infant formula, and adult nutritionals in solid (i.e. powders) or liquid (i.e. ready-to-feed liquids and liquid concentrates) forms using liquid chromatography coupled with immunoaffinity column clean-up extraction.
Who is ISO 23305 for?
BS ISO 23305 on nutritionals relevant to the following:
- Manufacturers of fortified milk powders, infant formula and adult nutritionals
- Nutrition testing and certification bodies
- Food technologists
- Regulatory bodies
Why should you use ISO 23305?
Infant formulas are foods designed to feed babies and infants less than 12 months of age while adult nutrition refers to products used as supplement for improved health.
ISO 23305 focuses on the estimation of biotin in fortified milk powders, infant formula and adult nutritionals. Moreover, the robust analytical methods that include liquid chromatography coupled with immunoaffinity column clean-up extraction, enable the accurate detection and mitigation of contaminants from samples.
As a result, standardised methods to assess the nutritional value in compliance with ISO 23305, helps foster reliability and trust for your products, by keeping in mind the health requirements of your consumers, while also meeting food safety and regulatory norms.
ISO 23305 can also prove to be beneficial for the food-related analysis for product development purposes.
