What is ISO 23741 about?
ISO 23741 specifies general procedures to determine the quantity of water sprayed on specimens during a spray cycle in a xenon arc weathering test apparatus.
The quantity of water delivered to specimens is not necessarily the same as water absorbed by specimens. Other factors such as temperature, time of wetness, and specimen affinity for water can affect total water absorption, but delivery of sufficient water is a necessary prerequisite for adequate absorption.
Who is ISO 23741 for?
ISO 23741 on the quantity of water used in spray cycles during xenon arc testing is relevant to:
- Plastic manufacturers
- Manufacturers and suppliers of xenon arc accelerated weathering test chamber
- Chemical engineers
Why should you use ISO 23741?
Water delivery during accelerated weathering testing is important because materials in most outdoor environments experience long times of wetness. ISO 23741 specifies general procedures to determine the quantity of water sprayed on specimens.
ISO 23741 provides the required apparatus, procedure and calculation to assess the water delivery amount through the xenon arc test chamber. The amount of water collected is denoted as RH2O and is expressed in gram per minute and square centimetre
ISO 23741 enables you better understand the property changes in materials and components to determine the extent of resistance to weathering damage from water spray.
