What is ISO 24070‑1 about?
ISO 24070‑1 is the first part of the ISO 24070 series of documents that specifies a method for the determination of the cured thickness depth of cure of one-component sealants using a taper-wedge-shaped groove test method.
Who is ISO 24070‑1 for?
ISO 24070‑1 on the cured thickness of sealants is useful for:
- Builders
- Civil engineers
- Manufacturers of sealants used in construction
Why should you use ISO 24070‑1?
Sealants are used to connect and join the various parts and materials to the main structure helping in closing the gaps between the elements and surfaces of the construction and thus, preventing fluids and other substances from passing through surfaces and mechanical joints.
ISO 24070‑1 provides a test method to determine the cured thickness of one-component sealants using the taper-shaped groove test method.
ISO 24070‑1 provides the requirements on the apparatus and materials substrate with a taper-shaped groove used for the testing purpose on test specimens.
Also provides curing process and testing according to climate conditions, at a particular temperature and relative humidity.
These test methods let you manufacture sealants to ensure their thickness, durability, and strength while using them for construction purposes and also serve the purposes of blocking dust, sound, and heat transmission.
