What is ISO 24347-Ball coupling device for towed and towing vehicles about?
ISO 24347 is an international standard that covers dimensional specifications for ball coupling devices which is a mechanical connection between towed and towing vehicles that enable trailer stability during operations.
ISO 24347 specifies the dimensional requirements and location for a ball coupling device of 80 mm nominal diameter, whose male part is fitted to an agricultural towing vehicle and the female part is fitted to a towed, non-balanced vehicle which provides a mechanical connection between the two vehicles.
ISO 24347 defines vertical loading for different positions. ISO 24347 specifies a ball coupling device with either a horizontal adjustable version or a close position version.
Who is ISO 24347-Ball coupling device for towed and towing vehicles for?
ISO 24347 on ball coupling device for towed and towing vehicles applies to:
- Manufacturers of ball coupling devices
- Suppliers of ball coupling devices to agricultural vehicle manufacturers
- Dealers and traders of ball coupling devices
- Testing houses for towed and towing vehicles
Why should you use ISO 24347-Ball coupling device for towed and towing vehicles?
Ball coupling devices are reliable mechanical connections in agricultural towing vehicles which ensure the safety of the rig and passengers. It consists of a locking handle, spring-loaded locking tongue and body casting. A secure fit is necessary for ball couplings as it can cause slippage or wear and tear problems.
ISO 24347 ensures the interchangeability of the mechanical connections on agricultural towing vehicles providing you flexibility in operations.
ISO 24347 provides you guidance on dimensions, marking, location and vertical load requirements which allows you to standardize the production of ball coupling devices for agricultural vehicle applications.
Guidance in ISO 24347 enables you to enhance the connection strength between towed and towing vehicles and ensure the safety of operations through increased stability.
What’s changed since the last update?
