What is ISO 2903 - ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads about?
ISO 2903 is an international standard on trapezoidal screw threads that discusses the tolerances on ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads.
ISO 2903 specifies a tolerance system for metric trapezoidal screw threads in accordance with ISO 2902. The tolerances refer to the design profile in accordance with ISO 2901.
The tolerance system does not apply to trapezoidal screw threads with special requirements on axial displacement, for example, machine tool leads and feed screws and nuts.
Who is ISO 2903 - ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads for?
ISO 2903 on ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads is relevant to:
- Manufacturer of ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads
Why should you use ISO 2903 - ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads?
Trapezoidal thread forms are screw thread profiles with trapezoidal outlines. They are the most common forms used for lead screws (power screws). They offer high strength and ease of manufacture. They are typically found where large loads are required, as in a vice or the leadscrew of a lathe.
ISO 2903 provides guidance on tolerance system, tolerance positions, tolerance grades, length groups of thread engagement, recommended tolerance classes, multiple-start threads, formulae, designation
As a user of ISO 2903, you can be ensured of tolerance on ISO metric trapezoidal screw threads.
ISO 2903 exemplifies the required tolerances refer to the design profiles that help you achieve precision in terms of product functionality and specification.
