What is ISO 2929 about?
ISO 2929 is an international standard on rubber hoses and hose assemblies for LPG to improve the efficacy of rubber hoses and hose assemblies.
ISO 2929 specifies the requirements for two groups of rubber hoses and rubber hose assemblies for loading and discharge of liquid hydrocarbon fuels with a maximum working pressure of 1,0 MPa (10 bar).
ISO 2929 hoses are designed for use with hydrocarbon fuels having an aromatic-hydrocarbon content not exceeding 50 % by volume and containing up to 15 % of oxygenated compounds, and operation within the temperature range of −30 °C to +70 °C, undamaged by climatic conditions of −50 °C to +70 °C when stored in static conditions.
Note: ISO 2929 does not apply to – hoses and hose assemblies for LPG systems, aviation fuel systems, fuel station systems or marine applications.
Who is ISO 2929 for?
ISO 2929 on rubber hoses and hose assemblies is applicable to:
- Manufacturers of rubber hoses
- Suppliers, distributer and importers of rubber hoses
- Companies involved in safety inspections
Why should you use ISO 2929?
A rubber hose is a hollow tube that is used to transport fluids from one place to another. A hose has a cylindrical shape. They are used to transport air or other gases in water or other liquid settings, or they are used to transport liquids in air or other gaseous environments.
ISO 2929 provides you with information on classification, materials, dimensions, physical properties, electrical resistance, frequency of testing, marking and more which facilitates spill free transportation of fuel.
The requirements and specifications provided by ISO 2929 assists you in improving the performance of rubber hose and hose assembly and ensure the secure transfer of fluids from one location to another.
What’s changed since the last update?
