What is ISO 2951- Insulation resistance in vulcanized rubber about?
ISO 2951 is an international standard on rubber, vulcanized rubber that discusses the determination of insulation resistance for indication of the quality of rubber, vulcanized rubber.
ISO 2951 specifies a method for the determination of the insulation resistance of vulcanized and thermoplastic rubbers without discrimination between the volume and surface resistances involved.
ISO 2951 applies only to the test pieces with a resistance greater than 108 Ω.
Who is ISO 2951- Insulation resistance in vulcanized rubber for?
ISO 2951 on the insulation resistance in vulcanized rubber is relevant to:
- Rubber, vulcanized rubber manufacturers
- Chemical Engineer
- Researchers and scientists
- Any entity responsible for testing the quality of rubber
Why should you use ISO 2951 - Insulation resistance in vulcanized rubber?
Vulcanized rubber is any type of rubber that’s been hardened through the use of heat and sulfur. ISO 2951 provides you with a method for the determination of the insulation resistance of vulcanized rubber. The method under ISO 2951 assists in rapidly determining values which gives a general indication of quality when great accuracy is not required and thus, assists in evaluating vulcanized rubber produced to produce a high-quality rubber product.
With compliance and obedience to ISO 2951, you can determine the quality of rubber, vulcanized rubber and compare the quality of different insulating rubbers to make an appropriate decision.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 2951:2019 is the third edition that cancels and replaces the second edition ISO 2951:2012, which is technically revised. The main changes compared to the previous edition ISO 2951:2012 are:
- The normative references have been updated
- The calibration schedule has been added
