What is ISO 3547‑7 about?
ISO 3547 is an International Standard on plain bearings. ISO 3547‑7 is the seventh part in the multi-series of documents applicable to the plain bearings on wrapped bushes. Conformity to ISO 3547-7 helps maintain geometrical precision and accuracy in the manufacture of bearings for various applications.
ISO 3547‑7 describes, following ISO 12301, the checking methods and measuring equipment used for measuring the total wall thickness of thin-walled bushes in the finished state.
Note: All dimensions in this document are given in millimetres.
Who is ISO 3547‑7 for?
ISO 3547‑7 on wrapped bushes is relevant to:
- Plain bearings manufacturers
- Construction industry
- Automotive industry
Why should you use ISO 3547‑7?
Plain bearings are widely used across industries where sliding, rotating, oscillating or reciprocating motion are present. They are mainly used in applications where precision and geometrical accuracy is a critical feature for performance.
ISO 3547-7 covers the checking methods and equipment needed to measure the wall thickness of thin-walled bushes. The purpose of checking methods is to ensure that the wall thickness and wall thickness tolerances are in accordance with ISO 3547-1.
As a manufacturer, inspecting the wall thickness of thin-walled bushes in accordance with ISO 3547-7 can help you establish conformity with international standards, thus fostering confidence and reliability for your products.
