What is ISO 37162 about?
ISO 37162 discusses smart community infrastructures. ISO 37162 specifies a procedure to arrange smart transportation for newly developing areas, including transportation services between the area and existing city centres.
Who is ISO 37162 for?
ISO 37162 on smart transportation in developing areas is useful for:
- Community leaders
- City planning officials
- Transport service providers
Why should you use ISO 37162?
Although overall populations in developed countries have started to decrease, many cities are looking for more space for citizens to reside and locate businesses, and are developing virgin or desolate land, since convenient places are normally limited in existing cities. Developing countries whose population is sharply increasing are also in the same situation due to these population explosions and the shortage of places for comfortable city life and effective business expansion.
ISO 37162 helps you identify the possible options for smart transportation in developing areas. ISO 37162 also considers the selection criterion that would determine the transportation systems well suited for the developing area. ISO 37162 will also lay out a framework for you to maintain the sustainability of smart transportation in developing areas.
ISO 37162 helps you to implement a smart transportation system in developing areas that satisfy some if not all commute requirements of the local public.
ISO 37162 contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, in particular, Goal 3 on good health and well-being, Goal 8 on decent work and economic growth, Goal 9 on industry, innovation and infrastructure, Goal 11 on sustainable cities and communities, Goal 15 on life on land, and Goal 17 on partnerships for the goals.
