What is ISO 4579 about?
ISO 4579 specifies basic dimensions, characteristics and engineering requirements for TORX® PARALOBE® recesses in aerospace fasteners.
ISO 4579 also includes basic fastener recess configuration, recess inspection and fastener recess torque test.
Who is ISO 4579 for?
ISO 4579 on basic dimensions, characteristics and engineering requirements for TORX® PARALOBE® recesses in aerospace fasteners is applicable to:
- Aerospace fasteners manufacturers
- Mechanical engineers
- TORX® PARALOBE® recesses manufacturers
- Product designers
Why should you use ISO 4579?
TORX® PARALOBE® is a unique, proprietary drive system with full surface drive contact thus reducing stress at the bit/recess contact points. With this drive system, Acument reports that there is 20% greater bit torsional strength and 20% greater drive system strength than the TORX PLUS drive system and 40% greater torque strength than the TORX drive system.
ISO 4579 walks us through basic dimensions, characteristics and engineering requirements for TORX® PARALOBE® recesses which as we have seen is superior to the other drive systems used in the market, and hence with the use of TORX® PARALOBE® you will have an edge when it comes to torque strength and drive system strength.
The use of ISO 4579:2021 helps to contribute to UN Sustainable Development Goal 9 which aims to ensure the building of resilient infrastructure, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and fostering innovation.
