What is ISO 4665 - Weathering resistivity about?
ISO 4665 is an international standard for Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic that specifies the test methods which helps in ensuring the weather resistivity of these vulcanized rubber.
ISO 4665 specifies methods for the exposure of vulcanized or thermoplastic rubbers to natural or artificial weathering and methods for the determination of changes in colour, appearance, and physical properties resulting from exposure.
Who is ISO 4665 - Weathering resistivity for?
ISO 4665 on Rubber, vulcanized or thermoplastic is useful for:
- Manufacturers of rubber products
- Manufacturers of automotive parts
- Constructors
- Research laboratories
- Manufacturers of footwear
- Manufacturers of cookware
- Manufacturers of rubber gloves and bands
Why should you use ISO 4665 - Weathering resistivity?
Vulcanization is the chemical process where the physical properties of natural or synthetic rubber are improved.
ISO 4665 specifies the test method and procedure for vulcanized rubber. This test method helps in changing the colour and appearance of these rubber by exposing the test pieces to natural or artificial weather. With the help of this ISO 4665, you can determine the properties of vulcanized rubber. By using ISO 4665 you can ensure the weathering resistivity and in improve the quality of vulcanized rubber.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 4665:2016 supersedes BS ISO 4665:2006. BS ISO 4665:2016 includes some technical changes with respect to BS ISO 4665:2006. This includes the updation of normative references and small editorial changes made for clarification and compression set added to mechanical properties that could be measured.
