What is ISO 4926 about?
ISO 4926 is an international standard on road vehicles that discusses methods for quality improvement of hydraulic brake systems.
ISO 4926 specifies the composition and characteristics of a reference fluid used for the compatibility testing of hydraulic braking systems and components mounted on-road vehicles.
Who is ISO 4926 for?
ISO 4926 on hydraulic braking systems is relevant to:
- Automobile industry
- Manufacturer of the reference fluid
Why should you use ISO 4926?
A hydraulic brakes system is a braking mechanism that uses brake fluid in oder to transmit force into the system. ISO 4926 provide information on CAS-number, mass fraction and purity of the reference fluid
As a use of ISO 4926, you can be ensured of the good quality of reference fluid. ISO 4926 helps you know the composition of the reference fluid which helps him test and improve the hydraulic braking systems. ISO 4926 helps the user to expand the market reach for the product and build consumer trust and confidence
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 4926:2020 supersedes BS ISO 4926:2006, which is withdrawn.
The main changes compared to the previous edition are as follows:
- The new chemical formulation of the reference fluid to simplify the recipe to avoid blending mistakes and to meet the ISO 4925 requirements.
