- Manufacturers and designers of rolling bearings
- Mechanical engineers
- Automotive industry
- Electrical engineers
Why should you use ISO 5593 - Rolling bearings?
Roller bearings transmit loads by using cylinder rolling elements rather than balls to maintain the bearing's separation between moving parts.
ISO 5593 establishes a vocabulary of terms, with their definitions, applied in the field of rolling bearings and their technology. Only terms which are particular to the pertinent field, or which in this field are defined in a particular way, are included. Specialized terms are found only in the rolling bearing standard for which they have been created.
Adopting the standardized vocabulary for rolling bearings in compliance with ISO 5593 can help prevent miscommunication and misinterpretation amongst entities dealing with rolling bearings. As a result, the risks arising from lack of uniformity and increased ambiguity can translate into potential product failure can be avoided.
