What is ISO 5832-9- Wrought high nitrogen stainless steel about?
ISO 5832 is an international standard that discusses metallic materials for surgical implants. ISO 5832-9 provides the best industry guidance on wrought high nitrogen stainless steel to ensure manufacturing efficient surgical implants.
ISO 5832-9 is the ninth part of a multi-part series that specifies the characteristics of, and corresponding test methods for, wrought stainless steel containing a mass fraction of 0,25 % to 0,50 % nitrogen for use in the manufacture of surgical implants for which high levels of strength and corrosion resistance are required.
Note- The mechanical properties of a sample obtained from a finished product made of this alloy can differ from those specified in ISO 5832-9.
Who is ISO 5832-9- Wrought high nitrogen stainless steel for?
ISO 5832-9 on the wrought high nitrogen stainless steel is relevant to:
- Surgical implants manufacturers
- Medical laboratories
Why should you use ISO 5832-9- Wrought high nitrogen stainless steel?
No known surgical implant material has ever been shown to be completely free of adverse reactions in the human body. However, long-term clinical experience of the use of the material referred to in ISO 5832-9 has shown that an acceptable level of biological response can be expected when the material is used in appropriate applications.
ISO 5832-9 assists you with test methods for efficient evaluation of wrought high nitrogen stainless steel for manufacturing high-quality surgical implants. With compliance and obedience to ISO 5832-9, you can enhance the efficacy of surgical implants and produce a standardized product.
