What is ISO 6150 - Pneumatic fluid power about?
ISO 6150 discusses pneumatic fluid power. A pneumatic power system carries power by employing compressed gas, generally air, as a fluid for transmitting energy from an energy-generating source to an energy-using point to accomplish useful work. ISO 6150 specifies the dimensions and tolerances to ensure the interchangeability of pneumatic quick-action coupling plugs. ISO 6150 also provides specifications and application guidelines and specifies the tests to be applied to the plugs together with sockets.
ISO 6150 applies to cylindrical quick-action couplings for maximum working pressures of 1 MPa, 1,6 MPa and 2,5 MPa (10 bar, 16 bar and 25 bar) for use in pneumatic fluid power systems. ISO 6150 applies only to the dimensional criteria of products manufactured in accordance with ISO 6150.
Who is ISO 6150 - Pneumatic fluid power for?
ISO 6150 on pneumatic fluid power (plugs) is useful for:
- Pneumatic system equipment manufacturers
- Design engineer
- Quality control personnel
- Research and development facilities
Why should you use ISO 6150 - Pneumatic fluid power?
In pneumatic fluid power systems, power is transmitted and controlled through a gas under pressure within an enclosed circuit. Cylindrical quick-action couplings conforming to ISO 6150 are designed to join or separate fluid conducting lines quickly without the use of tools or special devices. Many fluid systems require that hose be disconnected without excessive fluid loss. For these applications, quick-action couplers are used. Cylindrical quick-action couplings are also used to reduce the time, effort, and skill required to make and break fluid connections.
ISO 6150 gives application guidelines on installation with vibrating tools and coupling and uncoupling safety considerations. In ISO 6150 cylindrical quick-action couplings gets tested for accuracy of equipment and instrumentation, compliance check, Hydraulic test, corrosion test, structural rigidity, and operational tests. Using ISO 6150 you can specify the dimensions and tolerances to ensure the interchangeability of pneumatic cylindrical quick-action couplings.
