What is ISO 6301‑2 about?
ISO 6301 is a series of international standards on compressed-air lubricators that discusses the characteristics and specifications of compressed-air lubricators useful for pneumatic fluid power systems. ISO 6301‑2 is the second part of a series of documents on compressed-air lubricators. ISO 6301‑2 specifies tests, procedures, and a method of presenting the results concerning the parameters that define the main characteristics to be included in the supplier’s literature of lubricators conforming to ISO 6301‑1.
ISO 6301‑2 can be applied:
The tests specified are intended to allow comparison between the different types of lubricators; they are not production tests to be carried out on each lubricator manufactured.
Who is ISO 6301‑2 for?
ISO 6301‑2 on compressed-air lubricators is relevant to:
- Producers of compressed-air lubricators
- Fluid engineer
- Fluid testing laboratory
Why should you use ISO 6301‑2?
In pneumatic fluid power systems, power is transmitted and controlled through the air under pressure within a circuit. Where lubrication of the air media is desired, compressed air lubricators are components designed to introduce the required quantity of lubricant into the air stream.
ISO 6301‑2 provides guidance on test conditions and samples to determine the temperature and pressures, test procedure to verify rated pressure, airflow rate tests, test procedure to establish the minimum operating airflow rate.
As a user of ISO 6301‑2, you can be assured of the characteristics of compressed-air lubricators.
With ISO 6301‑2 you can efficiently perform various test methods for determining characteristics of compressed-air lubricators. With the necessary guidance and compliance to ISO 6301‑2, you can productively transmit power through pneumatic fluid power systems by lubricating the air media.
What’s changed since the last update?
