What is ISO 6622-1 about?
ISO 6622-1 is a multi-part series of European standard which specifies the essential dimensional features of rectangular rings made of cast iron, Types R, B, BA and M, having diameters up to and including 200 mm, used in reciprocating internal combustion piston engines.
ISO 6622-1 discusses the technical specifications such as terms, definitions, ring types and designation examples, common features, force factors and dimensions for rectangular rings made of cast iron/ piston rings for internal combustion engines.
ISO 6622-1 is applicable to piston rings of compressors working under similar conditions.
Who is ISO 6622-1 for?
ISO 6622-1 on piston rings for internal combustion engines
- Manufactures of combustion engines
- Automobile industry
- Companies dealing with piston rings
- Manufacturers and suppliers of components of combustion engines
Why should you use ISO 6622-1?
A piston ring is a metallic ring spit which is attached to the outer diameter of a piston ring in an internal combustion engine. These piston rings enable pistons to move smoothly up and down.
ISO 6622-1 provides you guidance on various types of rectangular rings such as type R- Straight faced rectangular ring, type B- Barrel faced rectangular ring, type BA- Asymmetrical barrel faced rectangular ring and type M- Taper faced rectangular ring. This helps you in manufacturing the high-efficient, durable, and high-quality piston rings for internal combustion engines.
