What is ISO 7135- Specifications for hydraulic excavators about?
ISO 7135 is the international Standard that discusses earth-moving machinery.
ISO 7135 establishes terminology and the content of commercial literature specifications for self-propelled crawler and wheeled hydraulic excavators and their equipment and attachments.
Note: ISO 7135 is applicable to common components and does not cover terms or commercial specifications specific to walking excavators.
Who is ISO 7135- Specifications for hydraulic excavators for?
ISO 7135 on hydraulic excavators is applicable to:
- Earth-moving machine manufacturers
- Hydraulic excavator manufacturers
- Machine operators
- Machine designers
- Mechanical engineers
- Safety authorities
- Health and safety bodies
- Market surveillance authorities
- Accident prevention organizations
Why should you use ISO 7135 - Specifications for hydraulic excavators?
Earthmovers and other heavy equipment assist in the speeding up of not only earthwork but also materials handling, demolition, and construction. Many types of heavy construction equipment are designed to serve numerous purposes, making them important on construction sites. However, the improper use, poor handling and inefficient design could present several risks.
The purpose of standardizing terms and definitions as recommended by ISO 7135 is to enable proper communication between entities dealing with earth-moving machinery and those closely involved with hydraulic excavators. The uniform and consistent use of terms and definitions can be particularly helpful in the design process, as ISO 7135 defines base-machine height, width, length, radial and angular dimensions for excavators. Additionally, you avoid avoid misinterpretations and any ambiguity that contribute to effective implementation of risk mitigation measures.
Thus, with ISO 7135 compliant terms and commercial specifications, you will be able to improve the overall functionality and operational efficiency of the machinery.
