What is ISO 7211-5 about?
ISO 7211 discusses methods for the analysis of woven fabrics construction in textiles. ISO 7211-5 is the fifth part of the multi-series ISO 7211 and discusses the determination of the linear density of a yarn. ISO 7211-5 specifies methods for the determination of linear density of yarn removed from the fabric. It relates to yarns of nominally uniform linear density.
ISO 7211-5 describes the method of removing threads from fabric and specifies the number of threads whose straightened length is to be determined and the methods of determining the mass of all the threads.
Who is ISO 7211-5 for?
ISO 7211-5 on Methods for analysis of woven fabrics construction is useful for:
- Textile manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use ISO 7211-5?
The method for determining the linear density of yarn from a fabric differs from that of yarn from a package in that, in the former instance, the crimp imposed upon the yarn by the interlacing of warp and weft should be considered. Also, the long lengths of yarn used in tests from a package might not conveniently be taken from a fabric. The results obtained might be subject to appreciable personal error unless a standard method is adopted, and adequate samples are taken.
ISO 7211-5 provides you the procedure to determine the linear density of yarn removed from fabric without removal of non-fibrous matter. ISO 7211-5 also provides the procedure of determination of linear density of yarn removed from the fabric after removal of non-fibrous matter. ISO 7211-5 also guides you with the calculation and expression of results. ISO 7211-5 helps you to manufacture high-quality woven fabric.
