What is ISO 7313 about?
ISO 7313 discusses aircraft components. ISO 7313 specifies characteristics of hose assemblies with corrosion‑resistant metallic braid and convoluted polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) inner tube for use in aircraft fluid systems at temperatures between ‑55 °C and +200 °C and at nominal pressures, depending on bore size, up to 6,8 MPa. Special approval from the proper national authority can be required if these hoses are to be part of a pressurized gas storage system.
Two types of hose assembly are covered in ISO 7313:
- Type 1: Non‑conductive inner tube
- Type 2: Conductive inner tube
Who is ISO 7313 for?
ISO 7313 on aircraft hose assemblies is useful for:
- Aircraft manufacturers
- Aeronautical engineers
- Quality control personnel
- Maintenance personal
Why should you use ISO 7313?
Convoluted hoses are used in aircraft as fluid lines or as connectors between moving parts and stationary parts. The PTFE hoses are commonly used in engine and hydraulic systems of the aircraft because of their high durability. These hoses need to be extensively checked for defects as they might affect the performance of the aircraft.
ISO 7313 provides you with the detailed specifications of PTFE aircraft hoses to help you produce aircraft hoses that will pass the quality assurance checks. ISO 7313 also provides the tests that the aircraft hoses would have to undergo in order to be applicable for aircraft installation. Test methods like proof pressure test, elongation and contraction test and leakage test recreate the field conditions for hoses and point out the faults in them. ISO 7313 ensures that your aircraft hoses are durable, fit for installation and won’t compromise the integrity of the aircraft.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 7313:2020 replaces ISO 7313:1984, which has been technically revised. The main changes in BS ISO 7313:2020 compared to ISO 7313:1984 are as follows:
- Clause 2, normative references, has been updated
- The structure of the document has been changed
