What is ISO 7320 about?
ISO 7320 discusses standards for couplings for fluid systems for aerospace applications. ISO 7320establishes a system for sealing the port connection of couplings used in the aerospace industry.
ISO 7320 specifies the dimensions to achieve interchangeability of the port connection, the fitting end, and a seal. The seal can be a standard O ring or a special ring.
Who is ISO 7320 for?
ISO 7320 on aerospace couplings for fluid systems is applicable to:
- Aerospace hydraulic systems, fluids, and components operators
- Aerospace and defense industries
- Testing agencies involved in the inspection of fluids and components of aircraft
- Manufacturers of cone couplings
- Design engineers for fluid systems
Why should you use ISO 7320?
ISO 7320 covers all the requirements for sealing the port connection of couplings. Following dimensions and fitting specifications for port connections provided in ISO 7320, creates a standardized approach for manufacturers of cone couplings that they need to adhere to if they supply their products for use by the aerospace and defense industry.
As a manufacturer, you would use ISO 7320 to ensure that the couplings that you are manufacturing for aerospace applications need to comply with standard specifications.
By adopting ISO 7320, manufacturers can demonstrate the dimensions and reliability of their couplings and build trust in their use throughout the aerospace supply chain.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 7320:2021 supersedes BS 2M 63:1993. BS ISO 7320:2021 replaces ISO 7320:1992, which constitutes a minor revision. BS ISO 7320:2021 includes the following technical changes concerning BS 2M 63:1993:
- The normative reference has been changed from dated to undated
