What is ISO 764 about?
ISO 764 discusses magnetic-resistant watches. ISO 764 specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for magnetic-resistant watches.
Note 1: ISO 764 applies to magnetic resistant watches designed to withstand daily magnetic fields.
Note 2: Moreover, ISO 764 indicates the marking that the manufacturer is authorized to apply to them.
Who is ISO 764 for?
ISO 764 on magnetic resistant watches is useful for:
- Magnetic resistant watches manufacturers
- Testing laboratories
Why should you use ISO 764?
The exposure of watches to strong magnetic fields may influence their accuracy, so ISO 764 provides requirements and test methods for magnetic resistant watches that will help you to get Magnetic resistant watches’ time accuracy.
ISO 764 specifies the minimum requirements for magnetic resistant watches, as magnetic fields are invisible not easily understood by consumers. Furthermore, the strength of the magnetic field is closely related to the distance between the clock and the source. Of the magnetic fields generated by the products, for the effect on the accuracy of the clocks.
Products generating magnetic fields encountered in daily life, and the relationship between the strengths of magnetic fields generated by these products and the distances from the sources of magnetic fields are summarized in ISO 764.
Essentially, an anti-magnetic watch can run with minimal deviation in time tracking when exposed to magnetic fields. ISO 764 specifies the minimum requirements and test methods for magnetic resistant watches for time tracking accuracy.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 764:2020 supersedes BS ISO 764:2002, which is withdrawn.
BS ISO 764:2020 additions of enhanced magnetic resistant watches and relationship with the distance from products generating magnetic fields with respect to BS ISO 764:2002.
