What is ISO 8013 – Creep in compression or shear about ?
ISO 8013 specifies a method for the determination of creep in vulcanized rubber continuously subjected to compressive or to shear forces. The standard cannot be used for intermittent deformation of rubber.
The calibration schedule given in ISO 8013 has been compiled by listing all of the parameters specified in the test method, together with the specified requirement. A parameter and requirement can relate to the main test apparatus, to part of that apparatus or an ancillary apparatus necessary for the test.
Who is ISO 8013 – Creep in compression or shear for ?
ISO 8013 on rubbers, vulcanized is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of rubbers and vulcanized
- Chemical engineers
- Any entity responsible for testing and quality of rubber and vulcanized
Why should you use ISO 8013 – Creep in compression or shear ?
The creep test is of particular interest where vulcanized rubbers are used to support a constant load, such as in bearings or mountings.
ISO 815-standard provides methods for determining creep in compression or shear, which will assist in compression devices for measuring shear, the mechanical condition of the test piece, and testing compliance.
ISO 8013 calibration schedule includes all the measurements needed for the test method, as well as any requirements. This includes measurements taken for the main apparatus, auxiliary devices, components of the main apparatus, and all the other measurements.
Overall, ISO 8013 is a comprehensive guide to provide methods for determining creep in compression and shear, so users will gain a comprehensive understanding of the quality of rubbers and vulcanized to improve durability and strength.
