What is ISO 8405 about?
ISO 8405 specifies the dimensions and tolerances, in millimetres, of ejector sleeves with cylindrical head which are used in compression and injection moulds and in diecasting dies.
ISO 8405 also gives material guidelines and hardness requirements and specifies the designation of ejector sleeves with a cylindrical head.
ISO 8405 helps you improve the quality of ejector sleeves with cylindrical head.
Who is ISO 8405 for?
ISO 8405 on ejector sleeves with cylindrical, basic series for general purposes head is useful for:
- Ejector sleeves with cylindrical head designers
- Ejector sleeves manufacturers
- Industries using ejector sleeves with cylindrical head
Why should you use ISO 8405?
ISO 8405 provides you guidelines for material and hardness that will help you improve the durability of ejector sleeves with cylindrical head.
ISO 8405 describes the way in which ejector sleeves with cylindrical head should be designated so that you can identify and trace them in the supply chain.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 8405:2020 is the fourth edition that cancels and replaces the third edition (ISO 8405:2013) which has been technically revised.
The main changes compared to the previous edition is as follows:
- Addition of ejector sleeves of diameter 0,8, 1,2, 1,5, 1,6, 1,7, 3,5, 3,7, 4,5, 7, 8,5, 9, 10,5, 11, 14 and 16
- Correction of the formulae giving the value of concentricity tolerance, t
- Addition of a surface roughness of 1,6 at the end of the ejector sleeve shaft and of 3,2 on diameter d3
- Modification of the indication of the hardness of shaft for hot worked steel
