What is ISO 8573-4- Contaminant measurement of particle content about?
ISO 8573-4 reports the particle size and concentration of all types of particles combined.
ISO 8573-4 provides a method for sampling compressed air and a guide for choosing suitable measuring equipment to determine its particle size and concentration by number. It also describes the limitations of the various measurement methods and describes the evaluation and uncertainty considerations.
Note 1: ISO 8573-4 does not detail the methods to be used to determine the mass concentration of particles as required for the particle purity Classes of 6, 7 and X.
Note 2: ISO 8573-4 does not address instances where non-isothermal conditions exist, and separate arrangements should be made where particles may be formed by vapour condensation or lost through evaporation.
Who is ISO 8573-4- Contaminant measurement of particle content for?
ISO 8573-4 is on Particle content for contaminant measurement of compressed air applies to:
- Chemical manufacturers
- Electronics appliance manufacturers
- Pharmaceuticals companies
- Wood products manufacturers
- Glass manufacturers
- Food and beverages manufacturers
- Vehicle manufacturers
Why should you use ISO 8573-4- Contaminant measurement of particle content?
Compressed air is an important medium for the transfer of energy in industrial processes, and is used for power tools such as air hammers, drills, wrenches and others, as well as to atomize paint, to operate air cylinders for automation, and can also be used to propel vehicles. Brakes applied by compressed air made large railway trains safer and more efficient to operate.
ISO 8573-4 provides particle content for contaminant measurement of compressed air. ISO 8573-4 also provides particle content to industrial facilities that use compressed air for a multitude of operations. Almost every industrial facility has at least two compressors, and in a medium-sized plant, there may be hundreds of different uses of compressed air. ISO 8573-4 provides a method for sampling compressed air that is useful to many non-manufacturing sectors, including the transportation, construction, mining, agriculture, recreation, and service industries, also helps manufacturer companies to vacuum packing, cleaning, Clamping, stamping, controls, and actuators, other industrial processes.
ISO 8573-4 helps to keep compressed air under a pressure that is greater than atmospheric pressure.
