What is ISO 8727 - Human exposure Biodynamic coordinate systems about?
ISO 8727 specifies anatomical and barycentric coordinate systems for dynamical measurements, for reference purposes in cognate standards development, and for precisely describing human exposure to mechanical vibration and shock. The segmental anatomical coordinate systems defined in ISO 8727 are for the head, the root of the neck (driving-point for the head and neck system), pelvis, and hand. The biodynamic coordinate systems defined in ISO 8727 can serve as frames of reference for the description and measurement of both translational and rotational vibration and shock motion affecting humans.
Who is ISO 8727 - Human exposure Biodynamic coordinate systems for?
ISO 8727 on human exposure Biodynamic coordinate systems is useful for:
- Building owners
- Electricians
- Electrical engineers
- Mechanical engineers
- Shock and vibration testing authorities
- Architects
- Construction operators
- Civil engineers
Why should you use ISO 8727 - Human exposure Biodynamic coordinate systems?
Biodynamic coordinate systems are used, if practicable, whenever collecting, transforming, analysing, reporting, describing, comparing, or evaluating human mechanical vibration and shock input data and consequent human body structural and system responses.
ISO 8727 provides a fundamental principle: it specifically deprecates using systems loosely defined as centred in the heart or other mobile structures. The precise definition of anatomical coordinate systems is fundamental bio dynamical science because all biodynamic measurements must ultimately be related to the bony anatomy of the human body.
ISO 8727 helps you for the establishment of corresponding anatomical coordinate systems for other skeletal body segments.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS ISO 8727:1997+A1:2015 supersedes BS ISO 8727:1997 which is withdrawn.
