What is ISO 8820‑12 about?
ISO 8820‑12 is part 12 of the multi-series standard that specifies fuse-links with tabs (blade-type) Type N (sub miniature), for use in road vehicles. ISO 8820‑12 establishes, for this fuse-link type, the rated current, test procedures, performance requirements and dimensions.
ISO 8820‑12 is applicable for fuse-links with a rated voltage of 32 V a current rating of ≤30 A and a breaking capacity of 1 000 A intended for use in road vehicles.
ISO 8820‑12 is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO 8820-1 and with ISO 8820-2. The numbering of its clauses corresponds to that of ISO 8820-1 whose requirements are applicable, except where modified by requirements particular to ISO 8820‑12.
Who is ISO 8820‑12 for?
ISO 8820‑12 on Fuse-links with tabs (blade type) Type N (sub miniature) is useful for:
- Road vehicle manufacturers
- Manufacturers of fuse-links
- Designers of fuse-links
- Automotive engineers
Why should you use ISO 8820‑12?
ISO 8820‑12 specifies the rated current for fuse-links with tabs (blade type) type N (sub miniature). This will help you test the input/output characteristics measurements of the fuse-link.
ISO 8820‑12 provides instructions for marking, labelling and colour coding that will help you identify and trace the fuse-link.
ISO 8820‑12 provides tests and requirements for breaking capacity, current steps, the strength of terminals and cable size.
ISO 8820‑12 establishes dimensions for fuse-links with tabs (blade type) type M (medium-high current).
