What is ISO 8820‑13 about?
ISO 8820‑13 is part 13 of the multi-series standard that specifies fuse-links with tabs (blade-type) Type P (sub miniature three tabs) for use in road vehicles. ISO 8820‑13 establishes, for this fuse-link type, the rated current, test procedures, performance requirements and dimensions.
ISO 8820‑13 is applicable for fuse-links with a rated voltage of 32 V a current rating of ≤30 A and a breaking capacity of 1 000 A intended for use in road vehicles.
ISO 8820‑13 is intended to be used in conjunction with ISO 8820‑1 and with ISO 8820‑2. The numbering of its clauses corresponds to that of ISO 8820‑1 whose requirements are applicable, except where modified by requirements particular to ISO 8820‑13.
Who is ISO 8820‑13 for?
ISO 8820‑13 on fuse-links with tabs (blade type) type P (sub miniature three tabs) is useful for:
- Road vehicle manufacturers
- Manufacturers of fuse-links
- Designers of fuse-links
- Automotive engineers
Why should you use ISO 8820‑13?
ISO 8820‑13 specifies the rated current for fuse-links with tabs (blade type) type P (sub miniature three tabs). This will help you test the input/output characteristics measurements of the fuse-link.
ISO 8820‑13 provides instructions for marking, labelling and colour coding that will help you identify and trace the fuse-link.
ISO 8820‑13 provides tests and requirements for breaking capacity, current steps, the strength of terminals and cable size.
ISO 8820‑13 establishes dimensions for fuse-links with tabs (blade type) type P (sub miniature three tabs).
