What is ISO 9026 about ?
ISO 9026 is an international standard on raw rubber or unvulcanized compounds which covers determination of green strength.
ISO 9026 specifies a method for the determination of the green strength of raw rubber or unvulcanized rubber compounds using a tensile stress-strain test, the test pieces being prepared following standard test conditions or cut from calendered sheets.
Who is ISO 9026 for ?
ISO 9026 on raw rubber or unvulcanized compounds is applicable to:
- Manufacturing for rubber compound
- Suppliers and distributors for raw rubber material
- Companies dealing with raw rubber/ unvulcanized compounds
Why should you use ISO 9026 ?
Raw rubber which consists of basic material latex which is a dispersion of isoprene. And unvulcanized compounds is a rubber which does not does through a process of vulcanization where it goes through a chemical process which enhances the properties of natural and synthetic rubber products.
Green strength is a resistance of raw or unvulcanized compounded rubber to tensile deformation or fracture and thereby a measure of the ability of a rubber or rubber compound to resist tensile distortion during processing and in fabrication, e.g., tyre-building operations.
ISO 9026 specifies you the green strength which goes through a various test before using such as: test piece preparation (thermal, mechanical), rate of extension and test temperature. This will enhance the quality of the green strength for Raw rubber or unvulcanized compounds.
ISO 9026 give you the properties of unvulcanized rubber which are important to certain processing operation in the rubber industry. These unvulcanized rubber are frequently referred to as “green strength”.
As a buyer of ISO 9026, you will be able to acquire a better quality of green strength with all the test applied to it.
