What is ISO 9197 – Chloride content in paper pulps about?
ISO 9197 is an international standard that lays out technical specifications for the determination of water-soluble chlorides in the paper, board and pulp.
ISO 9197 specifies a method for the determination of water-soluble chlorides in all types of paper, board and pulp. The lower limit of the determination is 20 mg of chloride ion per kilogram of dry sample.
Who is ISO 9197 – Chloride content in paper pulps for?
ISO 9197 on determining water-soluble chlorides in paper, boards and pulps is useful for:
- Paper mills and manufacturers
- Distributors, dealers and importers of paper, board and pulp
- Quality control personnel
- Testing labs for paper, board and pulp
Why should you use ISO 9197– Chloride content in paper pulps?
Chloride in paper pulps enhances the durability of paper products. However, high content of water-soluble content in paper pulps can have the reverse effect.
ISO 9197 provides you guidance for all technical specifications such as principle, reagents, apparatus, sampling and preparation of the sample, procedure, calculation, precision and test report allowing you to determine the quantity of water-soluble chlorides in paper pulps accurately for quality assessment purposes.
What’s changed since the last update?
