What is ISO/IEC 19823-21 about?
ISO/IEC 19823-21 discusses information technology. ISO/IEC 19823-21 is the 21 part of the ISO/IEC 19823 series of standards that is applicable to security service crypto suites. ISO/IEC 19823-21 describes methods for determining conformance to the security crypto suite defined in ISO/IEC 29167-21. ISO/IEC 19823-21 contains conformance tests for all mandatory functions. The conformance parameters are the following:
- parameters that apply directly affecting system functionality and inter-operability
- protocol including commands and replies
- nominal values and tolerances
Note: Unless otherwise specified, the tests in ISO/IEC 19823-21 are intended to be applied exclusively to RFID tags and interrogators defined in the ISO/IEC 18000 series using ISO/IEC 29167-21.
Who is ISO/IEC 19823-21 for?
ISO 21248 on crypto suites is useful for:
- Software engineers
Why should you use ISO/IEC 19823-21?
A cipher suite is a set of algorithms that help secure a network connection through Transport Layer Security (TLS). Cipher suites are important for ensuring the security, compatibility, and performance of HTTPS connections. ISO/IEC 19823-21 provides conformance test which help choose the correct ciphers to be listed on any web server is a vital for any administrator. As cipher suites dictate which algorithms to use to make a secure and reliable connection.
