What is ISO/IEC 30145-3 about?
ISO/IEC 30145-3 describes a framework, structured in layers of information and communication technology (ICT), essential for smart cities' operation. This framework also provides the mapping of the ICT techniques to various system entities in order to support the smart city’s business, knowledge management, and operational systems from the engineering perspective.
ISO/IEC 30145-3 describes security and privacy protection system. This system is applicable to the design, planning, construction, maintenance and other aspects of the ICT systems of a smart city. This includes protecting the confidentiality and rights of individual citizens.
ISO/IEC 30145-3 describes components of the smart city ICT reference framework, which consist of 5 components: stakeholders, vision and outcomes, the business process framework, the knowledge management framework, and the engineering framework.
Who is ISO/IEC 30145-3 for?
ISO/IEC 30145-3 on smart city engineering framework is useful for:
- Local planning and development authorities
- Manufacturers and suppliers of new technologies used in smart city systems
- Construction companies
- Government authorities
- ICT solution providers
- City planners and developers
Why should you use ISO/IEC 30145-3?
The smart city concept integrates information and communication technology (ICT), and various physical devices connected to the Internet of things (IoT) network to optimize the efficiency of city operations and services. ISO/IEC 30145-3 helps city chief information officers and other stakeholders in planning and implementing a smart city.
ISO/IEC 30145-3 provides guidance on the security and privacy protection system which addresses security requirements such as confidentiality, integrity and availability. It provides authentication, authorization, non-repudiation, user and role identity management, integrity, audit, security monitoring, incident response and security policy management.
ISO/IEC 30145-3 helps you foster a multi-dimensional system of systems view on smart city systems across dimensions, domains and layers along the lifecycle of a smart city system.
ISO/IEC 30145-3 also provides you with scenarios and use cases, supporting the sustainable development of smart city system arrangements, activities and artefacts, the convergence of people, processes and productivity globally.
