What is DD CEN/TS 15916-1 – Copper and copper alloys about?
DD CEN/TS 15916-1 is an international standard that discusses the flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (FAAS) for copper and copper alloys. Atomic absorption (AA) spectroscopy uses the absorption of light to measure the concentration of gas-phase atoms.
DD CEN/TS 15916-1 specifies a flame atomic absorption spectrometric method (FAAS) for the determination of the tellurium content of copper and copper alloys in form of castings or unwrought or wrought products. The method applies to products with tellurium mass fractions between 0,000 2 % and 0,020 %.
Who is DD CEN/TS 15916-1 – Copper and copper alloys for?
DD CEN/TS 15916-1 on flame atomic absorption spectrometric method applies to:
- Manufacturer of atomic absorption spectroscopy
- Quality testing personnel
- Manufacturing of automobile companies
Why should you use DD CEN/TS 15916-1 – Copper and copper alloys?
Tellurium has been used to vulcanise rubber, tint glass and ceramics, in solar cells, in rewritable CDs and DVDs and as a catalyst in oil refining. It can be doped with silver, gold, copper or tin in semiconductor applications.
DD CEN/TS 15916-1 provides you with the procedure of preparation of the test portion such as a blank test. It is the same procedure and uses the same quantities of all reagents as used for the determination but substitutes pure copper for the test portion. A check test is a preliminary check which prepares a solution of reference material or a synthetic sample containing a known amount of tellurium and of composition similar to the material to be analysed.
By adopting DD CEN/TS 15916-1:2011, you can be ensured of all the test methods.
