What is PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 about?
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 is the third sub-part of the second part of the PD CEN/TS 15427 series of documents. PD CEN/TS 15427-2-3 specifies the requirements of adhesion materials intended to be applied to the interface between the wheel tread and the rail crown (active interface). PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 can be applied either directly or indirectly to the wheel tread or rail.
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 outlines the information required for most approval procedures, the method of testing and routine control/monitoring of the material
NOTE: PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 does not deal with Top of Rail materials. For Top of Rail materials see CEN/TS 15427-2-2:2021.
Who is PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 for?
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2-3 on railway adhesion materials is useful for:
- Railway engineer
- Manufacturers of railway wheel and wheelsets
- Manufacturers and suppliers of adhesion materials required for railway vehicles
Why should you use PD CEN/TS 15427‑2-3?
Wheel/rail friction management is the systematic assessment and implementation of friction control, combined with the technology to monitor, maintain and manage friction to achieve short and long-term performance benefits.
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2-3 provides the requirements of adhesion material substance that is used to either prevent the occurrence of slipping or sliding or to enable recovery of traction/ braking where slipping or sliding occurs.
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2-3 provides the control and monitoring of products to check the chemical composition, geometric specification, and/ or physical properties.
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 helps in the preparation of technical datasheets and packaging, labelling, and storage of the adhesion materials.
PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 helps you know the features of dry particle material and water-based material to determine its viscosity and temperature range.
Furthermore, PD CEN/TS 15427‑2‑3 assists you with the features of adhesion materials used for railways to give satisfactory and consistent product quality and performance ensuring the safety of the railway braking and signalling.
