What is PD CEN/TS 15656- Determination of phosphorus content about?
PD CEN/TS 15656 is a safety standard on copper and copper alloys.
PD CEN/TS 15656 specifies a molybdovanadate spectrophotometric method for the determination of phosphorus in copper and copper alloys in the form of castings or unwrought or wrought products.
The method is applicable to products having phosphorus mass fractions between 0,001 % and 0,5 %.
Who is PD CEN/TS 15656- Determination of phosphorus content for?
PD CEN/TS 15656 on determining phosphorus content is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of copper alloys
- Manufacturers of spectrophotometer
- Manufacturers of testing equipment
- Corrosion engineers
- Testing authorities
Why should you use PD CEN/TS 15656- Determination of phosphorus content?
Copper alloys are metal alloys that have copper as their principal component.
PD CEN/TS 15656 provides guidance on determining phosphorus content using the spectrophotometric method. PD CEN/TS 15656 describes a test method where the phosphorus concentration of the calibration solutions is adjusted to suit the sensitivity of the spectrophotometer used so that the curve of absorbance as a function of concentration is a straight line.
Overall, PD CEN/TS 15656 is useful as it assists in determining phosphorus content using the spectrophotometric method which can be helpful for your business.
