What is PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 - EFC Test suite structure and purposes about?
Road user charging in transport is used across Europe for raising revenue, dealing with congestion and internalising transport costs. Concerns over escalating congestion, pollution and carbon dioxide issues, i.e., the sustainability of road transport, put even more emphasis on fair road pricing schemes in Europe.
PD CEN/TS 17154 series supports the European Electronic Toll Service (EETS) in terms of providing a set of standardized test specifications to evaluate conformance of implementation of toll chargers and toll service providers including implementations that provide interoperability and the EETS.
PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 specifies the test suite structure and test purposes to test the conformity of central equipment of both toll charges and toll service providers versus CEN/TS 16986.
PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 provides templates for the protocol conformance test reports for the implementation under tests (IUT) for both the toll chargers and the toll service providers.
Who is PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 - EFC Test suite structure and purposes for?
PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 on EFC test suite structure and purposes is useful for:
- Toll chargers and toll service providers
- Transport authorities
- Traffic management systems
- IT and telecommunication firms
- Tech developers / software programmers
- Transport authorities
- Transport and safety management industries
- Organizations that manage road transport and highways
Why should you use PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 - EFC Test suite structure and purposes?
PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 provides you with the specification for testing the conformity of technical implementations to CEN/TS 16986. Technical implementations which can be tested using the specifications included in PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 are central equipment of toll chargers and central equipment of toll service providers.
PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 contains the technical provisions to perform conformance testing of functional and dynamic behaviour of implementations conforming to to CEN/TS 16986. The test purposes (TPs) specified in PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 include security aspects: such as verification that optionally present infoExchange Authenticators are embedded into secure InfoExchange messages and verification of the correct behaviour of an IUT when receiving a secured InfoExchange message. Test purposes intend to check the correctness of the application data unit exchange in a different transaction in case the Implementation Under Test (IUT) is the central equipment implementation of the toll charger.
PD CEN/TS 17154‑1 helps to enable seamless information exchange between service provision and toll charging.
