What is PD CLC/TS 50568-8-Electricity metering data exchange about?
PD CLC/TS 50568 discusses electricity metering data exchange. PD CLC/TS 50568-8 is the eighth part of PD CLC/TS 50568 that discusses SMITP B-PSK PLC communication profile for neighbourhood networks.
PD CLC/TS 50568-8 contains 4 profile specifications:
- The DLMS/COSEM SMITP B-PSK PLC Profile
- The Original-SMITP B-PSK PLC Profile
- The Original-SMITP IP Profile
- The Original-SMITP Local data exchange profile
The DLMS/COSEM SMITP B-PSK profile defines the use of the CLC/TS 50568-4 communication protocol and methods to access and exchange data modelled by the COSEM objects of EN 62056-6-2 via the EN 62056-5-3 application layer. It is in line with the DLMS/COSEM suite as described in EN 62056-1-0.
The Original-SMITP Profiles define the use of the CLC/TS 50568-4 communication protocol and methods to access and exchange data modelled by the Original-SMITP Data Model via the Original-SMITP Application Layer. These are not part of the DLMS/COSEM suite as described EN 62056-1-0.
Who is PD CLC/TS 50568-8-Electricity metering data exchange for?
PD CLC/TS 50568-8 on electricity metering data exchange is useful for:
- Meter manufacturers
- Software engineers
- Electronics engineers
- Utility providers
Why should you use PD CLC/TS 50568-8 -Electricity metering data exchange?
The DLMS/COSEM SMITP B-PSK PLC communication profile is based on a simplified or collapsed three-layer OSI architecture. The layers are the physical layer, the data link layer, the convergence layer, and the application layer. The data link layer is split into the MAC sublayer and the LLC sublayer.
PD CLC/TS 50568-8 guides you with the DLMS/COSEM SMITP B-PSK PLC profile, the DLMS/COSEM SMITP B-PSK PLC profile, the Original-SMITP IP profile, the Original-SMITP IP profile, discovery, and registration services, the Original-SMITP AL Services, and the Original-SMITP Data model.
PD CLC/TS 50568-8 provides guidance with the structure of the profile, physical layers, data link layers, application layer, and application process. PD CLC/TS 50568-8 helps you to provide efficient electricity metering data exchange.
