What is PD IEC/PAS 63023 – Input interface guidelines for haemodialysis equipment about?
PD IEC/PAS 63023 is an international standard that focuses on medical electrical systems and input interfaces for haemodialysis equipment. PD IEC/PAS 63023 establishes a unique input interface for the connection of an external alarming device to haemodialysis equipment.
Who is PD IEC/PAS 63023 - Input interface guidelines for haemodialysis equipment?
PD IEC/PAS 63023 on medical electrical systems and input interfaces for haemodialysis equipment is useful for:
- Healthcare workers
- Haemodialysis equipment manufacturers
- Doctors and nurses
- Maintenance providers of medical equipment
Why should you use PD IEC/PAS 63023 - Input interface guidelines for haemodialysis equipment?
The effort to standardize an input interface is based on the request to connect an external alarming device to the haemodialysis equipment to stop the extracorporeal circuit. PD IEC/PAS 63023 establishes a unique interface for the connection of an external alarming device.
PD IEC/PAS 63023 helps to monitor employing pressure pulses or other parameters that may offer greater sensitivity but may also require up to a minute to detect the fault condition and switch off the blood pump. High blood flow may cause blood losses of 500 ml, which are usually not fatal for adults.
