What is PD IEC/PAS 63166 – Zhaga interface about?
PD IEC/PAS 63166 is a Publicly available specification that reproduces Books 1 and 7 from a series of books of LED luminaire components as developed by the Zhaga consortium. The aim of the consortium was to agree and define interchangeable led modules and interfaces enabling multi-sourcing and interchangeability between manufacturers of luminaire components and modules. The series of books includes common definitions; the mechanical interface of separated LED drivers (electronic control gear); and the generic aspects of thermal interfaces, LED light engines, LED modules, LED drivers, LED arrays, holders, and connectivity fit systems.
The section within PD IEC/PAS 63166 relating to book 1 provides information common to all the Zhaga interface specifications, such as common definitions; the mechanical interface of separated LED drivers (electronic control gear); and the generic aspects of thermal interfaces.
The section within PD IEC/PAS 63166 relating to 7 covers a variety of rectangular and linear LED modules with separate electronic control gear that are intended primarily for use in indoor lighting applications.
Who is PD IEC/PAS 63166 – Zhaga interface for?
PD IEC/PAS 63166 on Zhaga books applies to:
- Manufacturer of LED luminaires and lighting components
- Quality testing of LED modules
- Design engineers
- Suppliers and distributors of LED lighting products
Why should you use PD IEC/PAS 63166 – Zhaga interface?
PD IEC/PAS 63166 reproduces Books 1&7 from the Zhaga consortium which provides specifications for an industry standard range of interchangeable and multisource lighting components.
